Pulling together my favorite songs from the past year into a single list is one of my favorite activities to do as the year winds down. And of course it’s another excuse to continue procrastinating on my Christmas shopping. When I look back on 2019, I’ll remember the incredible new albums by Vampire Weekend, Bon Iver, and Angel Olsen, and TWO beautiful albums from Big Thief. And I’ve continued my live music obsession with SXSW, Capitol Hill Block Party, Outside Lands, and Intersect, with separate live shows by Vampire Weekend, The Beths, Big Thief, Sharon Van Etten, Bon Iver, Jungle, Dermot Kennedy, and more. Many of those artists have songs on this list of my favorite 50 songs of 2019. If you just want to see the full lists, there are Amazon Music and Spotify lists at the end<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
