Time for my new playlist. A mix of stuff from bands I’ve just discovered (Margot & The Nuclear So and So’s, Crystal Skulls) and new releases from bands I’ve been listening to for the past couple years (Phoenix, Keane, Muse). I was able to pull together a pretty healthy list this time (17 tracks). Check out the list on iTunes iMix or the Yahoo! Music playlist.
Let me know what you think and keep sending me suggestions.

| Phoenix |
| Long Distance Call (y, i) |
|
| French band that brought us “Everything is Everything” is back with another catchy single to start off the play list this month |
| Black Tie Dynasty |
|
| Retro new wave music from Forth Worth, Texas, reminds me of the 80′s |
| The Twilight Singers |
| Underneath the Waves (y,i) |
|
| Greg Dulli (formerly Afghan Whigs) puts out a track clearly influenced by the Katrina aftermath. |
| Jon Auer |
|
| Jon Auer was one half of the Seattle indie pop band The Posies, and his knack for melodic pop is showcased in his new solo album |
| Margot & The Nuclear So and So’s |
Skeleton Key (i) |
| Less than cheery lyrics but a great melody from a band actually named after the Margot character from the Royal Tennenbaums. |
| Camera Obscura |
| Lloyd, I’m Ready to Be Heartbroken (i) |
|
| Female-led Glasgow band with a cool summer track filled with multiple melodies |
| Rock Kills Kid |
|
| Orange County band with a very radio-friendly rock track that I can’t get out of my head |
| Fin |
|
| A new indie rock band from LA…. Impressed by the soaring lead vocals |
| Boy Kill Boy |
|
| Some fun, driving, retro brit-rock, and it’s actually from the UK too. |
| The Little Ones |
|
| Upbeat sing-song indie pop I heard on KEXP.org…good music to accompany the sunny weather |
| Muse |
| Supermassive Black Hole (y,i) |
|
| Whoah…. Muse is bringing out the falsetto in their new single, very different from anything else I’ve heard from them |
| Keane |
|
| Keane has added some more instrumentation to its normally piano-dominated music…. a strong first track from their upcoming new album |
| Office |
|
| Chicago indie pop band that made a splash at SXSW this year. Catchy tune. |
| Figurines |
|
| Danish band I had on KNAK 10… this time, check out when they go upbeat and uptempo… maybe need to ease off the caffeine! |
| Crystal Skulls |
|
| Always on the lookout for Seattle bands… not sure how to describe this one… kind of like indie-pop meets 70′s lounge. |
| The Concretes |
|
| The Concretes are known for the “song from the Target commercial” (“Say Something New”), but this Swedish band continues to deliver in their new album |
| Blue October |
| Congratulations (w/ Imogen Heap) (y,i) |
|
| Closing out the list this month with a low-key pretty tune featuring backup by the distinctive voice of Imogen Heap |
